I am so excited because today I am leaving for my one months trip! First I am going to Spain, Marbella, to see my amazing friend who we have a tradition to travel at least once a year together. So then we gonna go to Morroco and travel around there! After that I am going home to Lithuania to celebrate hopefully white christmas with my family and friends. Following will be Austria where I am going to ski and celebrate New Years ! After that Amsterdam again. I am so so excited, I worked so hard this month so I can afford to do this travelling by myself. Even though I am missing couple of important things at university I always think that if you want to you can make it work. Also travelling for me is so important that I can't just say no to these amazing opportunities.
Also having a break from this place will be useful too. Living with so many students in one place can get bit too dramatic. I think everyone who has ever lived on a campus knows this feeling. And the weather... The weather too. i personally love winter, but now its just rain and wind. Can't wait to hop on the plane and escape to little bit of sunshine!
For today I have a little review for you of a set of Burt's Bees products. I got it as a present so unfortunately I can't tell you how much was it. Its also all small size - perfect for travelling or carrying everyday in your bag.
Burt's Bees Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Cream
LIKE:
- The consistency - its really really thick, so you feel like its good and nourishing for you hands when you put it on. However i would advice to put it before going to sleep or when you not gonna use your hands for quite some time since it takes time to soak in to your skin.
- I do like the design a lot (which goes to almost all of their products).
DISLIKE:
- Since it's a really tiny jar of 7 grams of hand cream, I assume I will struggle with it if I will want to fully finish this product. At the moment it's still pretty full so i don't have any problems with getting it out of the jar yet.
- Smell - its really strong, and even though it does smell like almonds I am really not a fan of it. However it does smell like something good FOR your hands.
Burt's Bees Refreshing Lip Balm with Pink Grapefruit
LIKE:
- Smell - oh the smell, it has a really nice hint of grapefruit, not too much, not too little.
- It does it's job - it moisturizes and refreshes your lips. I would say it's one of those basic items every girl should have. And it really is not a shitty lip balm - it actually works on your lips.
- 100% natural - not sure how much of the truth it is but it always feels better to know that you are not putting whole lot of chemistry on your body and what you apply is actually good for you.
DISLIKE:
- Nothing - you really can't go wrong when purchasing this lip balm.
Burt's Bees Thoroughly Therapeutic Honey & Grapeseed Oil Hand Cream
LIKE:
- Consistency - much lighter than the Almond Milk Hand Cream I mentioned before, therefore much more convenient for everyday use. The size is also bigger - it contains 20 grams of the product.
NEUTRAL:
- Smell - better than Almond Milk Hand Cream but still has this weird hint of heavy cream.
Burt's Bees Coconut Foot Cream
LIKE:
- SMELL - I wish they swapped the scents with Hand Creams cause this one smells amazing! Obviously, like coconuts and it doesn't have that weird hint of smell.
I haven't properly used it so I can't say anything about the functionality of this cream yet, but I am sure it works well, just like the other products.
Burt's Bees Hand Salve
LIKE:
- It works - I use it for my nail area if I have any scratches or cuticles and it helps to prepare nails for manicure. It also works as a treatment for your hands.
NEUTRAL:
- It smells like sauna to me and I can't decide whether I like it or not.
All in all, I would recommend it to buy if you want to have a trial of the products and then purchase the normal size, or if you need a basic but nice gift for someone.
Never before had I celebrated Halloween (oh actually i did once, but it was a disaster with a capital D). However here in Amsterdam everyone seems to be quite hyped about it. Its a celebration I would advice not to go to clubs but stay in student dorms or find house parties this way you will just save so much time of standing in lines since its a pretty busy night.
Last night I actually got quite sick and I also have exams on Monday so I just decided to stay in my dorms and celebrate a little. My costume was absolute last minute decision and probably the most boring costume anyways.
One thing - I love Amsterdam. In my life I've been travelling quite a lot but there is no other place (after my hometown Vilnius) that I enjoy more than the capital of Dutch land. The people, the vibe, the places - seriously, you can explore it for days and days but you never seem to be able to completely get to know this city. So I decided to upload some pictures from one day in Amsterdam city, so you can see it yourself.
Bagels and beans - a place to have a bagel !
Amsterdam canals at night - you will notice a lot of couples sitting around.
G - serves drunk brunch which includes eggs benedict and some (or a lot) bloody marys.
Being a complete tourist - space cake next to a canal.
Amsterdam book market which we accidentally came across. You can only enter this when you pass the tiniest broma and it's a little street with these windows for books. Here, i opened this random book and the first thing I saw was something about lithuanians - such a coincidence !
Best Vietnamese in China town.
Typical dutch pancakes in typical dutch pancake house
Some more canals
As you can tell from the picture - first coffee shop in the world
Hoi! So I am making a fresh start once again and this time I am really determined to make my blog survive since there is so much happening in my life and I have so much to document.
First, little introduction - I just came out of being underaged and stepped straight in to the streets of Amsterdam moving here from Vilnius, Lithuania. Here I study Trade Management Asia and work part time as a bartender. In between I party, cook, travel and try to keep my life together. So I will try to keep my blog about the things that I am up to in my life which includes - city adventures, travelling, food (sometimes healthy sometimes not so) and occasional anything in betweens. So that's it for now, stay updated. : )
